Suitable for anyone who undertakes Dinghy Race Duties
The session will take 1-2 hours. It is based in the clubhouse and outside on dry land
- you will not need to wear sailing gear; however, please wear/bring appropriate outdoor clothes as some practice exercises will be outside
Basic use of a VHF radio
Practise
- changing channels for
- LSC races channel P4
- EDSC races channel 37 or 37a
- Emergency channel 16 - checking the power level is set to low
- putting the radio into a waterproof cover
- completing a radio check with the other SB and Little Holly - our Committee/Race Start Boat
- adjusting the volume and squelch
- making a basic call
- storing and charging the VHF radio
