The John Sadler designed and built Seawych is a solid easy to handle bilge keeler from the seventies. A great day or weekend cruiser that sails like a large dinghy but is plenty big enough for a family of four to enjoy the sailing experience.
Nouveau Wych is an old trusty dear little boat that is great for pottering around the harbour. Rather tired and jaded but solid and reliable- just like her current owner…who also has a very short draft so can go where others can’t…
Externally
She has been anti fouled every year, but rig and front rails could do with a little attention. Mast can be stepped on the pontoon and doesn’t need the crane.
Internally
The headlining needs re doing.
The windows are crazed but watertight.
Cushions are all good
Unused chemical loo
2 ring burner stove & gas bottle
Sails and equipment
- Main and furling jib are old but fine. New UV strip on jib.
- Main Sail cover
- Have replaced original winches with Lewmar’s.
- No instruments as no electricity connection but could easily be installed.
- Anchor and chain
- Swim ladder
Engine
Very good 5hp Mariner outboard recently serviced with very low mileage.
Tender
Avon inflatable tender included although could do with valves replacing. Has not been used for several years.
The
Nouveau Wych can be seen on mooring E4 at the mouth of the Blue Lagoon. She’s been there for most of the season as I haven’t had time to use her. My son who crews occasionally is going to live in Australia for a while and thus why I am selling.
She’s been fun to learn on.
This little cruiser has been at LSC since built so it would be great if she could remain there.
